Owner Operator movers are shareholders in the company and they earn much more money than employee movers.

My initial impressions with my call was they were well organized and able to give me a specific peice for my move, when the load up crew arrived they were awesome, very nice, finished very quickly! Unfortunately my belongings switched hands a few times before delivery so that became very confusing. They also tried to deliver it 7 days early than expected, then changed that to the next day, which I informed them would not work. The delivery date was changed two more times after that, neither of which were the original delivery date my contract was supposed to be for. My boxes were very banged up, everything was jostled around inside, but thankfully nothing important was broken. One of my wheels is missing and a week later I've heard nothing productive from the last driver I spoke to, so I'll have to just go to the brick and get a new one. Overall I have a mixed view of this experience.
Our move went very smoothly and on time. Joe was very professional, helpfull and treated our possessions as if they were his own. Not a scratch! We would highly recommend these movers.
Alan and his assistant took great care loading my mothers belongings into their truck and deliverying them to Victoria with no breakages or damage. Thank you Alan.
Ryan and his crew are great guys and worked hard as a perfect team together. The communication before, during and after the move was awesome. These guys are the polite, careful, and caring. I would definitely us these guys again and recommend them to others.
These guys were great despite equipment challenges. From the moment I contacted them the service was so hospitable and assuring. The quote was reasonable given that I was moving from the Sunshine Coast to Victoria. Just their and my luck the truck they had on this job had a few issues but they handled this with such grace and dignity that I couldn't fault them one bit. The men that did the actual move were courteous, careful with a sense of humour. I highly recommend them.
I have only Praise and Thank You to oo movers. They were efficient, friendly and handled my property with care. If you need a mover my immediate recommendation is oo movers.
We all work better and harder when we get paid more.
At Owner Operator Movers Furniture Movers the men who actually do the work earn twice as much as employee movers usually get, even though we charge the same or less. It’s not hard to guess which kind of mover is going to work harder and smarter for you.
OO movers has some of the most skilled movers in the business. Get more value for your moving dollar.More About OOmovers
My best piece of moving advice would be that preparation is key. Careful packing and organization of your belongings can cut hours off the job time. It not only cuts down on the amount of trips needed to and from the moving truck, but proper packing makes it easier for me to maneuver all your belongings into one truck load. Everyone wins because you pay less and I make it home on time to Burnaby for dinner.
I’ve been moving all my life. As a teenager I learned the business working with my dad. As I got older I had no doubt that becoming an Owner Operator was what I wanted to do, buy my own truck and run my own crew. Many clients call back for a 2nd, 3rd or 4th move with OO movers, asking specifically for me. I work hard and honestly love what I do. The physical labor is what I like the most and after a long day of moving I will normally hit the gym for a while before going home for the night.
I started my moving career doing deliveries for Ikea but quickly decided to move on up to becoming a professional mover. I started working for a different Owner Operator and managed to learn quite a bit, not just about how to do the job, but how to do the job well. I saw how much I could make by striking out on my own, as long as I kept up excellent standards of service. This led decided to buy my own truck, start my own business, and join Owner Operator Movers myself.
What I always liked about working with the OO movers group is that they took care of my money so well. Ask any experienced mover and he will tell you stories of moving companies that cheated him. The Owner Operator group is always correct and fair when it comes to money and always err in the movers favour. On my last paycheck they even paid me double.
One time I moved a gigantic globe of the Earth into the lobby of a building in downtown Vancouver. The material made it tough to get ahold of and pick up, and it couldn’t be rolled because it had delicate mountain ranges sticking out. Eventually we got it wrapped in massive pads and resting on padded runners. This let us start to maneuver it into then out of the truck. I’m still proud to have pulled this move off without even minor damages.
Maple Ridge Movers
I have been moving many years out of Maple Ridge and I think I will retire this year and sell my truck to my helper Chris. He has been with me more than three years now and the Owner Operators Vancouver group can provide him with financing. That old truck has completed more moves than I can count but it will be a good beginner truck for him and has a lot more moves in it yet. I am sure Chris and that truck will be a successful team.
Port Moody Movers
What’s my favourite part of being an Owner Operator? I don’t have to answer to anyone but the customer. This makes it so much easier to just focus on moving. At the end of the day, I have no one to report to. I started with oomovers years ago as a helper to Brent R. and he taught me all the tricks he learned in over 25 years of moving around Port Moody and Coquitlam. Brent has retired and I bought his truck so I am my own boss and could not be happier.
My dad was a mover and I began moving when I was 13 years old. Everyone in my family has helped me with my moving company all over the Fraser Valley from our base here in Abbotsford. There have even been a few times when my wife, Swallow helped out and she definitely proved that women can work as hard as men. We always liked to think of our job as our family helping your family.
I started out moving odds and ends around Vancouver in a borrowed friend’s truck as a side gig. Moving started to take up more and more of my time and I took the jump to start moving full time in 2008. I bought my own truck and started working with Owner Operator Movers. I paid off my truck in no time and never looked back.
Owner Operator Movers began as local West End and East Van movers over 36 years ago, but today we have movers all over the Lower Mainland. Currently our busiest areas are Surrey and Langley but we also have movers on the North Shore working in North Vancouver and West Vancouver. Our movers in the Richmond group serve Ladner, Delta, and White Rock. The Tri-City movers team, based out of Coquitlam, also serve in Maple Ridge, Furniture Movers, and New Westminster. Up the Fraser Valley, our Abbotsford movers serve customers from Vancouver to Chilliwack.
Our Furniture Movers team is very experienced and professional. Most of our moves are household moves, apartment moves, and condominiums, but we are also very good at Furnitureer moves from senior homes or working for stagers, decorator's, and movie production companies. We can also service all types of office moves, commercial moves, and deliveries.
Moving to another city in BC from Furniture Movers does not have to be an expensive, long-distance move. Our local crews can take you to Vancouver Island, the Okanagan, or the Sunshine Coast at economical local move rates. Long-distance movers will charge you much more because they have huge trucks and many expenses for traveling that are unnecessary for moves within Southern British Columbia.
When we take a customer to Victoria or Kelowna, we find the cheapest way to move is to load up the day before and then leave early in the morning before traffic. This approach avoids overnight charges for your crew. We take you to your new home and return the same day. Efficiency and good logistics are key to keeping your move cost affordable.
The so called “Triangle Run” between BC and Alberta has long been a feature offered by the OO movers team. We have runs twice a month (and weekly in summer) between Vancouver, Calgary, and Edmonton. Often, we also carry cargo for Alberta customers to Victoria and Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. Because we have offices in all of our destination cities, we are able to support a regular scheduled system that keeps the cost low.
Moving between provinces is generally done in large trucks where your cargo is consolidated with several other clients to make the cost affordable for all. Because we ship so often we are usually able to carry your goods direct from your house to your new location without any costly extra warehousing and handling. We offer very competitive per-pound rates and outstanding service to help you relocate to your new province.
Cross Canada movers are almost all experienced movers that have worked their way up to owning and operating their own trucks. Most long distance movers are Owner Operators but only a few of them belong to our organization, OO movers. Many of the rest haul for the big van lines who charge you a lot and keep most of the money for themselves. Our mission is to connect the consumer direct as possible to the men who actually do the work and build a positive relationship where the client saves money and the mover makes more. That sounds impossible, but it doesn’t need to be if you take the big boss man or brand name out of the picture.
Owner Operator Movers Burnaby has partners who regularly carry cargo between BC and Ontario, Toronto, Montreal and Eastern Canada. If your move is big or Furniture give us a call and we will provide you with a fixed price long distance moving quote better than any.
Piano moving is not something to take lightly. It is the most challenging task that a mover ever has to do and contains a high risk of expensive damage and even human injury. Dropping a piano is no joke, even though it is the stuff of cartoon legend.
Not every Furniture Movers moving company has the ability to move pianos. Our piano movers are properly trained and equipped to move your prized instrument safely. Visit our piano movers page to meet our heros who have the skill and confidence to move the “monster pieces” like pool tables, hot tubs, safes, and pianos.More About Piano Movers
Packing is the hardest part of moving and takes more time and effort than the average person has in their busy life. Our crews are experienced at packing and can make this painful task happen quickly and efficiently. Whether you just want us to pack a few treasures, the kitchen, or your entire home, our skilled packers will work with you to keep the cost low and take as little time as possible.
Our Furniture Movers Owner Operator movers are family men and care about the future of our planet so we encourage packing with used boxes and reusable plastic tubs if possible. Even the most efficient recycling system is not as green as directly reusing materials. Plastic tubs can be rented and many stores (Especially grocery and liquor stores) give away free boxes that can be reused for moving. Take advantage of the chance to save money and help save the planet!
